I don't know if I can affect our world globally, but I try locally. I volunteer in community projects teaching photography.  

YWCA: PURSES AND PASSION, 100 Portraits of Women.  
I am a participating photographer for a fundraiser for the YWCA.

This project is a national  campaign. The Tampa Bay area was the first to include portraits of 100 women, showing the diversity and complexity of our social fabric. The Portraits  create a visual tapestry representing women.  

I, and four other professional  female photographers, mentored girls from inner city schools and "Y" girls (at risk inner city teens) of the YWCA in photography.  

The portraits of women include a favorite purse, and reveal their passion.

St. Petersburg, FL public schools: I enjoy working with and teaching children  about photography. To that  end I have been a photographer mentor / volunteer at Melrose Elementary   and John Hopkins Middle Schoolthrough the school year in the photojournalism department. I  participate as a photography volunteer at  the John Hopkins Middle School summer camp.

American Cancer Society:  Along with the Photo Corps I have been a staff photographer for the American Cancer Society shooting the annual Susan Komen, Race for a Cure.

HELP:  Worked collaborately with  Florida Photographic Collaborative and local shelter for abused  women.  Photographed families for the hlodias 2010.
